Clay Avenue Historic District

On the block between 165th and 166th Streets Clay Avenue comprises “one of the most unified and harmonious streetscapes in the Bronx,” in the inimitable prose of the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. Built in 1901 on the site of the old Fleetwood Race track and designed by architect Warren C. Dickerson.
