“Next thing you’ll be going to Harlem,” my cousin said. Well, sure, at least to get to my favorite borough.
The station at 125th was a shock, a pleasant one. It’s all oak and iron, beautiful. Pictures on the wall depict the station’s renovation in the late Nineties. But they make clear that it wasn’t a renovation. The old station was so far gone, that little of it was salvaged. Essentially the current building is a replication of what used to there.
Lots of white people on 125th, in this Metro North station and the subway a block away. Almost too many 🙂
