COURIC: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? … Instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
PALIN: That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions.
“Not always responsive?” How about “clinically brain dead?”

Over at Mudflats, the blogmeister wrote of this clip, “Just for fun, see if you can watch this without putting your palms on your face.” I couldn’t. A national embarrassment doesn’t even begin to describe this woman’s candidacy.
A politician giving some sort of convoluted non-answer to a question is just so unusual.
“A politician giving some sort of convoluted non-answer to a question is just so unusual.”David C, you will tolerate anything that’s labeled Republican. Her “answer” isn’t simply “convoluted.” It’s incoherent. Glad to see that’s fine with you.
“David C, you will tolerate anything that’s labeled Republican”Yeah, that’s why I’m so strongly in favor of the administration’s bailout plaln. This is just pointless bashing based on an interview clip. It would still be insignificant were it Obama or Biden. You can find the same sort of thing done on right-wing sites.
I always wondered how true believers could swallow this kind of crap, and now I know.
“I always wondered how true believers could swallow this kind of crap, and now I know.”What true believers? Democrats that believe their own propaganda?
A smart politician can give an answer that says nothing but leaves you believing you heard something solid. A dumb politician gives an answer that says nothing and makes it brutally clear that she not only has nothing to say, but can’t even put together a coherent sentence under pressure. I’m sorry to have to say this, DC, but if you can’t see how poorly she did there, you have serious comprehension problems. And if you can see it and you’re just yanking our chains, well, shame on you.So I hear TBogg has dubbed her “Bible Spice”. Not quite at the Mooselini level, but at least as good as Caribou Barbie.
“but if you can’t see how poorly she did there”Did you even read what I wrote? Does my description of her response: “some sort of convoluted non-answer to a question,” somehow indicate that I think she did well?
David,Judgment is nearly universal that this performance with Couric was far far below acceptable. Even Kathleen Parker and K. Lo at NRO, among many others.
Bible Spice?That’s the best. LMAO!
