I inspect the biggest sewers in NYC. They are labelled as interceptors. Consider checking out those covers. They are cool looking and if you see what’s under some of them, you know they are serious covers. Most are a standard 28″ cover labeled ” NYC intercepting sewer” some like the last manholes before the plant in Jamaica queens are 36″ round, but they are too beat up for a good photo. If you ever get a snapshot of a cool intercepting cover I’d appreciate you email me a copy. I work at night so it’s rare I could get a cool photo with natural light.

do you know who is N.Y.C. Electrical
Has anyone ever come across an image of a manhole cover by the Mullon Brothers Foundry in Brooklyn? This would have been in the early 1900’s. They were my husband’s ancestors. Any help would be much appreciated!

Do you know what “DWR Drain” means on a manhole cover?
Sorry. I don’t
In some other states DWR is an abbreviation for Department of Water Resources, but I haven’t tracked down a reliable source for DWR in New York.
Does anyone know what WTC RW stands for?
