Five Swords, sculpture by Alexander Calder

Storm King Art Center

Visited Storm King Art Center on a picture-perfect fall day in October 2015. Sculptures by Alexander Calder, Louise Nevelson, David Smith, Tony Smith, Mark Di Suvero, Tal Streeter, and others sit in the magnificent open fields, with distant hills as a backdrop.

I love Storm King so much, I went back the next week with my daughter, Anna. Weather was not quite as perfect and my rental bike was distinctly sluggish, but we had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed Alyson Shotz’ Mirror Fence. And Frog Legs, with its dramatic hilltop location, drew my attention once again.
