Bolivian Gray Titi

Titi monkeys live in small family groups of parents and offspring. They are monogamous and are believed to mate for life. They frequently sit together, hold hands, and entwine their long tails. There are at least thirteen species of Titi; this one, Callicebus donacophilus (aka White-eared Titi), lives in Bolivia’s Amazonian region. They are primarily fruit-eaters and are very territorial, patrolling their area first thing every day.

While the Bronx Zoo has several Titi monkeys in the cages by the Mouse House, I took these photographs in the Central Park Zoo.
