On my walk through Pelham Parkway, Morris Park, and West Farms, the highlight was the slice of Sicilian pizza I had at Emilio’s. Cannot remember when I had a better one. All the flavors came through, not just a soggy mess drowning in cheese. The crust was just crunchy enough. The olive oil, tomato sauce, and salt all complemented the right amount of Mozzarella. Delicious!

The Morris Park neighborhood is almost suburban. It’s heavily Italian, with buildings only two or three stories high. Lost of nice restaurants on Williamsbridge Road and Morris Park Avenue.

This auto repair shop has been at this corner, fixing cars, for almost a century. In 1922 it was the site of Ed Dittmar’s service station. It’s still the same building, but no longer pumps gas.

This is a wonderful little jewel, in the rather seedy West Farms neighborhood, squeezed between old apartment buildings and low-income housing. It was built in the late Nineteenth Century. Of course, it’s fenced off, but I’d love to get a tour sometime. Perhaps the Parks Department gives tours on occasion.
