Lower East Side

Yuki on the Lower East Side

“Can I take the D train to get to Chrystie and Rivington?” Yuki texted me. Sure! Just three blocks from the Grand Street stop. She arrived early and with a change of outfits.

Yuki, Yuki ! Yes, Yuki Zhang! What’s this? A Chinese girl with a Japanese name!? She is sweet, confident, smart, and of course, incredibly beautiful. A girl who is only 19; she has been dreaming of being a model for years. And now today, she has made it, and we are so proud of her for what she has accomplished in her life. “Step by step, live and learn.” She told herself every day when she woke up. What a optimistic little girl! She been doing amazing jobs recently, and we can’t wait to see more exciting work from her!

We had a great shoot, checking out the graffiti covered walls and the hipster shops of the Lower East Side. By the time we got to Stanton Street, we were on a roll, and it showed in some shots we got of Yuki hanging off a tree and posing in a doorway that perfectly matched her red-and-black outfit.
