This museum in Long Island City is a great venue for photoshoots. A repurposed old school, it offers a wide variety of backgrounds: dramatic stairwells, hallways with shiny floors, the famous old boiler room, stark brightly lit exhibit areas, etc. There’s also a Brutalist style courtyard for contrast. It’s nowhere near as crowded as the Manhattan museums. And, the surrounding area offers more urban settings for photography.
