Just a few snowy photos of the train station stairway, a school bus on the Bronx River Parkway, a yellow, graffiti-covered call box, the little feeder stream to Hitchcock Pond, and a dam over the Bronx River.
Hitchcock Pond (shown from a sunnier day) originally powered a watermill that sat where the footbridge goes over the concrete foundation & sluiceway. The dam (shown above) diverted some of the Bronx River water into the little feeder stream (also shown above). Over time, this had silted up and the pond thus dried out. In the early 2000s, the County cleaned out and re-opened the feeder, thus revitalizing Hitchcock Pond.
