This striking New World Monkey is a popular animal, exhibited at The Bronx, Prospect Park, Beardsley, and Central Park Zoos. The white-faced saki (Pithecia pithecia), also known as the Guianan saki and the golden-faced saki lives in Brazil, the Guianas, and Venezuela.
Males have distinctive white faces and black bodies. Females are browner overall.
Most primates have nails like ours, instead of claws. While rather sharp (or “keeled”), you can see that the Sakis have nails.
