Featuring the icy Bronx River, a rehabilitated old industrial site, lots of snow, a guy with a big old romping German Shepherd, and a few Hooded Mergansers, all set against perfect Bronx backgrounds: a gorgeous blue sky and a shiny elevated train.
From the top of the entrance walkway to the park, we saw the guy exercising his dog, which gave us a little pause. Of course, he was a friendly guy with a happy, bouncy Shepherd. “Oh, he’s about 70 or 80 pounds.” Ya think? Try 120! We chatted amiably and agreed with his recommendation to go see Barretto Point Park.
Plenty of water birds near the boom over the Bronx River: Hooded Mergansers, Ring-billed Gulls, and Mallards.
Hard to capture the brilliant flashes of low sunlight shining off the number six train.
